Hello Freshman - CityU Library Orientation Events

Extensive knowledge, beautiful environment, rich resources, wonderful activities

 
It's the beginning of another academic year, and the library will accompany you on a new journey~
 
 
 
CityU library will be holding the following activities to welcome the new academic year. We hope CityU freshmen can become familiar with library services and resources, adapt to the new environment as soon as possible, and enjoy a wonderful campus life.

 

 

1、Know Your Library - Library Orientation for Freshman

     Introduce library resources and services. 

     Time and location：arranged by university

 

2、First Borrow, First Reward

     

     The first 180 readers who borrow books can receive a special gift. Please present your student ID card or student ID number。

     Quota：CityU library - 100 EA；Graduate Library & Information Services - 50 EA；Library & Information Services - 30 EA。

     Time：24 August - 31 October

     Location：Circulation counters of 3 libraries

 

3、Treasure Hunting: New Book Exhibition

     

     Find hidden treasures in book and approach circulation counter to claim your gift. There are a total of 100 gifts and each reader can only receive 1.

     Time：24 August - 31 October

     Location：New book exhibition area at B2/F CityU Library 

 

4、Library Training Course

    

    Introduce library resources, facilities and services. There are 5 courses in total and it will start once 5 readers registered. 

    2 courses in September:  10 September and 24 September  17:00-18:00

    3 courses in October：15 October, 22 October, 29 October   17:00-18:00

    How to join：Approach circulation counter or contact us by phone (85902960) or email (lib@cityu.mo)

    Location：Discussion Room 1

 

5、Test Your Library Knowledge

     

     Selected questions closely related to library services which readers concern about. Each participant will be rewarded with special gift.

     How to participate：（1）Online：Scan QR code to answer questions

      Time：24 August - 31 October

 

6、Understanding Library Services and Databases

      Offer training courses that provide an introuduction to library services and highlight key databases that are helpful for your study and research.

      Time and locatoin：will coordinate with each faculty
