Check out databases that can be assessed from off-campus without using VPN (1)
CityU has joined CARSI recently
that allows users to access databases from off-campus without using VPN.
Databases include Wanfang, EBSCO, Gale, ProQuest, Scopus, Scival, ScienceDirect.
Let's check it out!
(I) Wanfang Off-campus Access
1. Access Link： https://fsso.wanfangdata.com.cn/
2. Enter “澳門城市大學” in the search bar or choose “澳門城市大學” from the institution list below. Then click “前往”：
3. In the authentication page, enter student/staff ID and password.（Same password as the university email password; default: ID number）.
4. After login, you can access Wanfang from off-campus without using VPN.
(II) EBSCO Off-campus Access
1. Access Link ：https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=shib&custid=ns232693
2. In the authentication page, enter student/staff ID and password.（Same password as the university email password; default: ID number）.
3. After login, you can access EBSCO from off-campus without using VPN.
(III) Gale Off-campus Access
1. Access Link ：https://link.gale.com/apps/menu?u=mocityu
2. In the authentication page, enter student/staff ID and password.（Same password as the university email password; default: ID number）.
3. After login, you can access Gale from off-campus without using VPN.
(IV) ProQuest Off-campus Access
1. Access Link ：https://www.proquest.com/
2. Click on the person icon, choose "Sign into My Reasearch” from the drop menu.
3. Click “Find your institution now”。
4. Enter “city university of macau”，and click the university name。
5. Enter ProQuest and conduct your research without using VPN。You can search articles from ProQuest Central，ProQuest CBCA and ProQuest Dissertations & Theses on this website.
(V) Scopus Off-campus Access
1. Access Link：https://www.scopus.com
2. Click “Create account”
3. Click “sign in via your institution”
4. Enter the name of institution “city university of macau” and choose "澳門城市大學” from the drop list. Then click "Continue".
5. Click “Sign in via your institution”
6. In the authentication page, enter student/staff ID and password.（Same password as the university email password; default: ID number）.
7. You can now access Scopus without using VPN.
Scival and Scopus are on the same interface and apply the same login method.
(VI) ScienceDirect Off-campus Access
1. Access Link：https://www.sciencedirect.com
2. Click “Sign in”
3. Click “sign in via your institution”.
4. Enter the name of institution “city university of macau” and choose "澳門城市大學” from the drop menu. Then click "Continue".
5. Click “Sign in via your institution”.
6. If you would like to create a personal account, please enter email address and follow the instructions for creation；
Otherwise，Please click “Continue without personalization". Then you can access ScienceDirect without using VPN.
